Ideal Drugs is the oldest family owned drugstore in DeRidder, Louisiana. In December 1903 Ideal Health Mart opened their doors to a new business in DeRidder, Louisiana and has remained a thriving entity ever since. Ideal Drug Store was by far the leading pharmacy in the area. The store continued to grow surviving the Great Depression and World War II.
George LeRay, II is the owner and President of Ideal Drugs. Mr. LeRay is a 1964 graduate of ULM and is a practicing Pharmacist. He resides in DeRidder with his wife. Mr. LeRay is an active member in The Beauregard Chamber of Commerce, The Rotary Club and The Better Business Bureau.
George could not have known that 104 years later the pharmacy he opened would survive for four generations. After 104 years of service, the drug store is a DeRidder tradition.
